Article Snippet: For oil red O staining, cells were fixed in 3.7% formaldehyde and stained with oil red O (Sigma‐Aldrich) for 10 min. For immunofluorescence staining, cells were washed in PBS and fixed in 3.7% formaldehyde (Sigma‐Aldrich) for 15 min at room temperature, then permeabilized with 1% Triton X‐100 (Sigma‐Aldrich) for 5 min. After several washes, cells were blocked with 5% foetal bovine serum for 1 h at 37 °C, then incubated with mouse primary antibodies against alpha‐smooth muscle actin (1 : 400; Sigma‐Aldrich) or human albumin (1 : 50; Sigma‐Aldrich) for 1 h at 37 °C.
